Join us tonight as we celebrate local photography all over the city as part of the Louisville Photo Biennial. The eleventh Louisville Photo Biennial takes place through November 10, 2019. The Biennial also presents workshops, public lectures and panel discussions to stimulate learning and reinforce visual literacy. Since photography is the most widespread art form, our goal is to educate via meaningful dialogue to help bridge understanding in our diverse world through this dynamic medium and almost all of the exhibits and activities may be enjoyed for free.
The annual St. James Art Fair is also happening today. Enjoy easy parking and a free ride from the Brown Theatre parking garage to and from the event on the TARC LouLift, then head Downtown for tonight’s gallery openings on the Republic Bank First Friday Hop.
About First Friday:
The Republic Bank First Friday Hop is the first Friday of every month when all the galleries stay open late to hold gallery openings to kick off the month. The Hop is free and all-ages friendly. Much of The Hop is also dog-friendly, so get on your walking shoes and come out to hike The Hop with us. The Hop is an all-day event that happens primarily along the path of the free Downtown Louisville circulator — the LouLift — where you can hop on and off from Nulu to Museum Row to South 4th Street all day. After 6pm enjoy free parking at all on-street meters all night. There are over 50 events in Downtown Louisville every First Friday. Head over to the website firstfridayhop.com for the full list and be sure to go see our featured events!
