The Republic Bank First Friday Hop is the first Friday of every month when all the galleries stay open late to hold gallery openings to kick off the month. The Hop is free and all-ages friendly. Much of the hop is also dog-friendly so get on your walking shoes and come out to hike the hop with us. The Hop is an all-day event that happens primarily along the path of the free Downtown Louisville circulator the LouLift where you can hop on and off from Nulu, to Museum Row to South 4th street all day. After 6pm enjoy free parking at all on-street meters all night. There are over 50 events in Downtown Louisville every First Friday. The opening of A Post Modern Renaissance, by Nick Brittle at CRAFT(s) Gallery & Mercantile, a free market space to support the Louisville art community. Working within Louisville’s Creative Diversity Studio program, a 501(c)(3) that donates art materials and studio space to artists with developmental disabilities, Nick’s artistic vision has flourished over the decades allowing him to exhibit work publicly on a regular basis.
Re-surfacing, new work by PYRO artists Leslie Anglin and Jessica Robinson, on display in the galleries June 20 – July 27. Open on the hop and on first-Sunday July 7th the PYRO artist Kathleen Loomis will be at work on hand stitching.
Alice Star Crowley for drop-in Tarot readings from 6-8p on July 5. transform the front of KMAC’s lobby into an intimate parlor, where visitors will have a chance to be “in the hot seat” with the current exhibition In the Hot Seat.
Kentuckiana Pride Foundation and FEVA proudly present “(Never) Meant to Survive,” a portrait series honoring LGBTQ Activists and Icons. The installation includes 13 recreated historical photos of figures including James Baldwin, Marsha P. Johnson, Audre Lorde, Edie Windsor, Sylvia Rivera, Harvey Milk and more, utilizing similarly identifying local Queer folk as models at Regalo on South 4th Street.
